Non-Fiction (Sugar Wars)

"According to health agencies, more than one third of american's are obese." (Veronica page 7). The article "Sugar Wars," by Veronica Majerol is very impacting. Based on Americas obesity, Mr.Bloomberg has made a proposition to ban sugar- drink ban. Throughout the years there has been an increase on portion sizes. Through out the article there are many oppositions towards Mayor Bloomberg being a nanny watching over our habit.  It's one question many were thinking about.
Within the first couple of paragraphs of information. I saw that the government has a high concern of americans obesity rates. The author adds both of the situation's perspectives. Both side are very opinionated. Onto way Mayor Bloomberg should get this problem under control. Or why he should mind his business. One example that shows this is Zara Atal who mentioned "If people want to drink 24 ounces it's their decision."(Majerol page 7). This demonstrates it all depends on the person and whether or not they see their limits.
Veronica doesn't necessarily input her own opinion. But at the same time she speaks of the problem then leads on to an over all point. Showing the different portions. Veronica shows concern as well as Bloomberg. But states doing such thing would be idiotic. Reminding "How far should the government be able to go to protect us?"(Majerol page 7).
But I think Bloomberg eliminating the beverages does  nothing there will always be loop holes. Over all once your older, I feel people aren't as changeable. They are stubborn to what they believe is right. At this point they've become accustom to these fattening foods as well as beverages.

last blog post of 2nd marking quarter

The book I've been reading is called "Ballerina," by Jimmy Esmaeili. Its a true story. This book escalates drastically around the protagonist, Jennifer. She faces abuse of all types, verbal, sexual, physical and mental abuse. Jennifer always attempts dealing through everything with ballet. Jennifer has a stong additude toward her situations.
Jennifer always confronts her dad telling him right from wrong even though every time he continues along with his abusiveness. Not having her mom deepens the situation. Every time her father carries on with his abuse. She thinks of her mom. If things would be different if she was still alive. I imagine that if I didn't have my mom I wouldn't be fully forfilled. Yet she'd always give me strength which is what I feel Jennifer confronts.
Even after she repetitively, gets threatened by her fathers high standings due to being a lawyer. She always tends to try to reveal his true figure. It all began when he had an affair with another woman that wasn't her step-mom Sandra who barely filled the blank of her actual mother. Later on he started torrementing her. She wanted the best for everyone but while she tried showing the true image of her father he got worse torwards her.
In other words, fighting for others sunk her into the worst faith. She had an undiscovered case no one ever suspected anything bad ever went on in her life. Hypothetically speaking around the world there most be several case as this one. Where someone abuses of theirs power. People don't live to their highest standards. They only ruin their life.
